Kaltura engineers have resolved this playback issue for most users. However, some users may continue to notice issues with video thumbnails appearing for new videos in their Kaltura account. Beginning at approximately 12:35pm ET this afternoon, Kaltura began experiencing a service disruption impacting video playback. Users are currently unable to play Kaltura videos within Canvas (My Media,  Course Media, and videos embedded in course module pages). Kaltura engineers are aware of the problem and actively working to identify the root cause and apply a solution.
