Messaging Students from the Gradebook
Can I email students from within the Gradebook interface?
Yes, you can use the Gradebook to send messages to your students. See the resources below on for specific steps on how to message students from the Gradebook.
The information below describes how to message students using the Message Students Who option. You can send messages to your students based on the following assignment categories:
- Have submitted
- Have not yet submitted
- Have not been graded
- Scored less than [point value]
- Scored more than [point value]
- Reassigned
Even though one message (the same message) will be sent to multiple students at the same time, each student will receive an individual message, so there is no need to worry about students seeing how their classmates are performing in the course via these messages.
To message a student individually in Canvas, use the student context card.
