Canvas has recently added the ability to create custom links for the Course Navigation within your Course Site. These links can be items inside and outside of Canvas.

Adding Custom Links 

  1. Open Settings
    red box surrounding the Settings option
  2. Navigate to Navigation at the top of the page
    red box surrounding the Navigation option
  3. Select Add a Link from the list of items
    red box surrounding the Add a Link option
  4. Enter a name for the link under Text, and insert the link under Link
    red box surrounding the Text and Link boxes
  5. Select Add
    red box surrounding Add with link in the Link box
  6. This will create a new link in the Course Navigation with the name that was entered
    red box surrounding newly made navigation option
  7. Select Save to keep the addition. It will now appear in the Course Navigation
    red box surrounding new navigation option in course navigation

These links can be enabled or disabled, rearranged, and otherwise treated like all other Course Navigation options.
